BRICK & TILE LINING SYSTEM

PULP & PAPER MILL IMAGE.jpg

PULP & PAPER MILL

Our brick and tile lining products are suitable for pulp and paper mill facilities. Bleaching towers are a critical component of the pulp refining process. These towers, typically constructed from steel, require lining to protect against corrosion. The lining is in direct contact with the raw materials that are subsequently processed into pure white paper products. In addition to protecting the steel, the lining must be designed to prevent contamination of the processed pulp.

FLUE GAS CLEANING

Flue gas cleaning serves to remove pollutants from flue gas in order to cause as little environmental pollution as possible. Residues from industry and the private sector are often thermally utilized (hazardous waste incineration, residue incineration, incineration plants) and used in combined processes to generate energy. The resulting waste gases are treated for release into the environment by downstream flue gas purification plants, among other things.

OIL & GAS, MINING FACILITIES

Our brick and tile lining are also designed to protect mining industry and oil and gas industry facilities, regardless of substrate type (concrete or steel). Depending on the application, an additional acid-resistant lining may be required to ensure the integrity of the seal under high thermal and/or abrasive conditions

SUMPS & TRENCHES

Trenches must be designed with special technical attention. Trenches form the low points in plants and often have direct contact with the soil. Not infrequently, they are also used in wet operation. The sealing systems used against aggressive media are therefore subject to the highest demands. On the one hand, it is important to protect the building substance from damage and, on the other hand, to effectively prevent the penetration of environmentally harmful media into the soil and groundwater. In addition to chemical stress, mechanical stress due to cleaning work, for example, must also be taken into account. Sealing must then be protected using robust materials such as acid resistant linings. Special trench bottom bricks for the floor areas are technically the first choice here.

VENTURIII.jpg

VENTURIS

Venturis are primarily used for gas cleaning and gas cooling. Venturis work in the counter current or direct current process. They are usually made of steel. Their construction is complex. The basic construction consists of a cylindrical lower part, the venturi throat and the venturi head with spray nozzle and gas inlet. The entering gases can have a temperature of up to 500 °C. In view of the aggressive stress, the steel structure must be protected by an acid resistant lining. In order to be able to design a safe protective lining, a sound technical knowledge of the complex stresses and the process-technical mode of operation is required.

CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES FACILITIES

Our brick and tile linings offer reliable protection for chemical processing facilities, including those handling sulfuric acid, hydrochloric acid, and other corrosive substances. Our linings provide long-term protection for critical equipment such as absorption towers, drying towers, and other chemical plant facilities exposed to harsh chemical and high-temperature conditions.

PRACTICAL APPLICATION EXAMPLES OF BRICK AND TILE LINING SYSTEM

PROTECTION AGAINST EXTREME STRESSES

We combine sealing membranes, cements and ceramic materials to create solutions that are perfectly tailored to your project requirements. Besides being able to draw on our extensive range of existing materials, we can also develop new solutions with our development department, whenever needed. This ability allows greater scope for your project. Brick linings are subject to extreme stresses due to exposure to particular media or a combination of different media:

Chemical Stress

  • Chemical attack by media in liquid, gaseous or solid states

Thermal stress

  • Temperature level and temperature distribution

  • Temperature differences between the individual layers of the brick lining and the environment

  • Thermal cycling

  • Different coefficients of thermal expansion of lining materials and structure

Mechanical stress

  • Pressure ratios

  • Vibrations

  • Abrasion

  • Impact stress

  • Traffic
